🔥 DON’T UNDERESTIMATE THE SKILL

Many ultrarunners underestimate the power of fast walking and efficient hiking.

There will be sections in an ultra where running isn’t realistic. Steep climbs, technical terrain, or late race fatigue all call for strong hiking/walking skills.

Practicing purposeful walking and hiking in training builds efficiency, saves energy, and keeps your pace steady when others are fading. The runners who hike well don’t just “survive” the climbs, they thrive through them and carry momentum into the runnable sections.

Being able to walk a 20min mile instead of a 30min mile is going to have you feeling STRONG and CONFIDENT. AND it’s much easier to pick up your walking time and take 10min off than to take 10min off your mile run time.

Train your walk.

Train your hike.

Strong hikers/walkers make strong ultrarunners 🔥
