How did I become faster❓ FOOD❗

I’ve ran 1️⃣8️⃣ half marathons in the past 4️⃣ years, but the half marathons outlined below represent turning points in my life and performance.

PRIOR TO EATING CLEAN
This half marathon was brutal & it was a wake-up call. I’ve always eaten fairly healthy (except for my sweet tooth for homemade desserts, but I’m not into packaged food or fast food). BUT, I had ❌ no idea what portion control was – I didn’t know how to FUEL my body or HOW MUCH of each food group I should BE eating. I grew up in a hunting family & we had a HUGE garden, so we had wild game & veggies at every meal & frequently had potatoes. I got my veggies & protein in, just NOT ENOUGH. I got my healthy carbs & fats in, just TOO MUCH.

I started following a meal plan that was NOT restrictive – no cutting out food groups – just focusing on whole foods in PROPER PORTIONS. 🙌 And NO counting calories or macros – counting calories did not work for me❗.

5 MONTHS OF EATING CLEAN CONSISTENTLY
I was blown away by my time❗The only thing that I changed was eating PROPER PORTIONS of whole foods. I lost 2️⃣0️⃣ pounds in a matter of a few months & I felt amazing. I didn’t want the feeling to go away❗

1️⃣7️⃣ MONTHS OF EATING CLEAN
I wanted to lose a few more pounds & I wanted to tone, BUT I stopped seeing results. I felt exhausted & was always hungry. I couldn’t stick to my meal plan anymore. I WASN’T EATING ENOUGH 💣

JAN18
I started following timing & eating MORE – it was the same plan I had been following, but it emphasized 💥WHAT foods to eat & 💥WHEN in order to fuel throughout the day.

JUN18 ➡️ 1:27:21
5️⃣ MONTHS OF EATING MORE & PRIORITIZING TIMING
I started seeing results, losing 1️⃣5️⃣ pounds, as I increased my intake to 2,500cal/day. I gained significant muscle & I toned❗

SEPT19 ➡️ 1:27:24
1️⃣5️⃣ MONTHS OF EATING EVEN MORE (2,800cal/day) + TIMING

⭐ CONSISTENCY & FOOD = FUEL ➡️ the KEY❗You must FUEL your body with WHOLE foods & ENOUGH food❗
