Yesterday, after my flight took off, I grabbed my snack of carrots/tomatoes/eggs/apple out of my backpack – the man next to me asked if I was a dietitian. He mentioned his daughter was a registered dietitian and enjoyed meal planning & prepping.
Later in our conversation we were talking about my degrees in accounting and my new career path, and I expected the typical response… but I didn’t get it. I got a genuine, “Good for you. You need to do what you love. Life is too short to not enjoy what you are doing. It shouldn’t feel like work.” He went on to say that his daughter loves coaching and helping others live healthier lives and that she should be talking to me instead of him.
Wow.
A complete stranger was genuinely supporting my career change AND encouraging me to live my life. To help as many people as I could.
It got me thinking… Before coaching, I NEVER had something I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
I NEVER thought “Find something you love and you’ll never work a day in your life” was possible.
I NEVER thought I would find something that would fill the gap for what was missing in my life, that would set my soul on fire.
I didn’t know what I wanted to do for a career. I didn’t want to sit behind a desk all day, but I thought that was what everyone was supposed to do. Go to college, get your 150 credit hours to sit for the CPA exam, study and pass the CPA exam, and sit in a desk everyday for the rest of my career.
Until I found coaching!
Yesterday morning I got choked up during my last beach run. I spent 3 days with 16 ladies who ALL have the same passion & purpose in life to help others live happier, healthier lives.
I thought about how coaching has changed my life, and HOW FAR I have come in the last year. A year ago I hadn’t found coaching yet! But now I have.
I FINALLY found the career that sets my soul on fire, makes me excited work every single day, makes me LOVE Mondays, challenges me to be better every single day and that makes me dream BIGGER and work HARDER to live the life I WANT, because I CAN CREATE the life I want to live!
EVERYONE should have a career that does these things. Have you found it?
